Composition 1-8 was created in Holon, Israel, as part of Your Boy Will Amount to Nothing. The artists explore the tradition of modern sculpture by arranging mobile wooden walls into different compositions. This apparently playful act questions the heavy materials and fixed, site-specific presence associated with modern outdoor sculpture. Although the compositions by Tati and Dahlgaard resemble a modernist aesthetic, they reverse its defining qualities: they are light, mobile, fleeting, and constantly changing, leaving no permanent trace. The work brings the tradition of monumental sculpture into dialogue with contemporary street art, creating a hybrid form of “sculptural graffiti.”
